KIDS Bullyproof & BJJ Program

What is taught in the Kids BJJ Program?

Your child will learn real-world techniques that will help them to defend themselves in difficult situations. Brazilian jiu-jitsu’s focus is to teach students who are smaller and weaker to defend themselves against a larger, stronger assailant. While we teach students that the first choice is to avoid conflict all together, we will prepare them with the skills required to protect themselves in situations that cannot be avoided.

Classes include techniques, physical drills, games, and live training.

Many kids take an interest in the sporting aspect of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and enjoy getting involved in the competition scene. We have a strong Kids Competition team which are very active.

So what’s taught in the Self Defence component of the program?

We focus on 33 non-violent self-defence techniques that teach children to “neutralise and negotiate” with the bullies. When children become confident in their physical skills (the ability to defend themselves against a physical threat) then they become mentally confident to stand up for themselves.  A child needs absolutely no experience to start, and parents often notice a noticeable increase in their child’s confidence within a few weeks!

When do classes run? Do they run through school holidays?

Our classes run all year round and even through the school holidays! Check out the timetable for weekly times.

Does the Kids Program lead into the Adults BJJ Curriculum?

Yes! The Kids Program prepares the child to enter the adults classes with strong fundamental skills and the readiness to face the new challenges of the adult curriculum.
